Seriously dude… if I find one more fake rat, bat, or spider web in my room, I’m going to go loco. Lucy, I appreciate that you’re excited about Halloween, but I thought we were doing a retro Halloween party... you know, retro… as in 80s, 70s, 60s style… so go put up some Pacman posters or something, there are ghosts in that game… enough with the fake blood and vampires already.
And, for the record… Twilight is not considered a horror movie! Ugggg the girls are watching that right now, and I’m really not happy about it… I’m not on team Edward or Jacob… I’m on team Zavy. And Team Zavy wants to play Battlefield 3 right now since it just came out, and I’m being left in the dust because I have to share the TV with my roommates.
Uggggggg…. Anyhow, that leaves the computer. I’ve already completed all the Halloween quests and achievements on WoW… so that leaves a casual game… I decided to go with something that looked scary, so Haunted Hills: Fears from Childhood seemed appropriate. It reminded me of the children of the corn with all the creepy looking kids…
Of course I didn’t get too far into the game before I realized I was supposed to rescue those kids… oops. Apparently, some guy, Dr. Blackmore, is stealing children and then feeding off of their fears… kind of Freddy Kruger style. This game is the second one in the series, and apparently picks up where the other one left off so I was at a little disadvantage since I hadn’t played the first one.
Anyhow, from what I gathered, not only am I supposed to rescue these kids, but I’m also looking for my boyfriend Tim… yup, I’m playing a chick again… ok, so from now on Tim will be known as Timotha… my girlfriend who I need to rescue from Dr. Blackmore… got it? Good.
Ok, now that we have that straightened out, let’s talk more about the game. It’s an adventure game with some puzzles and hidden object scenes scattered throughout. You have to navigate back and forth through several scenes at once, trying to find items you need and progressing through the game. The scenery is bizarre and creepy. Doors in the middle of nowhere, fire coming from trees, and strange creatures popping out of nowhere. Altogether a creepy world that you have to explore to find these children and Timotha and stop the evil Dr. Blackmore.
The gameplay was good, and the hidden object scenes weren’t super challenging, which is fine by me, since I don’t have the patience for that kind of stuff, and would rather spend my time figuring out what to do next in the story. Overall, I’d say it was a great distraction from the fact that the girls were overdosing on ridiculous scenes of Edward’s hair blowing in the wind and one too many scenes with Jacob with his shirt off…
