Ok gamers, you know I’m always up for a good bargain, especially when it comes to my hidden object games, and seeing that the The Serpent of Isis: Your Journey Continues was this week’s $2.99 game made me a little giddy. This game is just what I need to forget about the upcoming dreaded event of my life… graduation. It’s like a hidden object adventure version of the movie National Treasure, which is a favorite of mine. (Confession: I kind of have a thing for the nerdy Nick Cage.)

What I like most about this game is the beautifully done graphics. There’s just something about all those muted shades of amber and blue that inspire me to… well solve a mystery! And just what is the story about? Well, let me tell you. You play the charismatic Robert, grandson of a famous archeologist, and you’re on your way to visit your friend and old colleague of your grandfather’s, Professor Penroy.
Much to your dismay, you discover that Penroy has been abducted, and the only clue is that the kidnappers are searching for the legendary lost Tomb of Isis. Now, it’s up to you to take over the hunt for the tomb by following clues your grandfather left you years ago.

The Serpent of Isis: Your Journey Continues will take you to grand locations like Paris and Venice, each lovingly depicted with extraordinary detail. It’s really just fabulous. So what’s the downside of the game? Yes, there are a few technical idiosyncrasies that can get in the way at times. For example, the inventory is a little clunky. You’ll be opening it and pulling out items a lot and it tends to close without warning. But, once you get used to it, it’s not a big deal and doesn’t take away from the story.
The puzzles can also be a little frustrating. There are no instructions on what to do, so if the solution isn’t immediately evident, you might start to hit your head against the desk before ultimately giving in and hitting the skip button.

All in all though, The Serpent of Isis: Your Journey Continues takes you on a marvelous journey through many exciting locations. You don’t have to play the first one to enjoy this one, but it would certainly be entertaining to make a weekend out of playing both games, especially since this one’s on sale. Here’s a quick link to the first Serpent of Isis if you want to check it out.
