"I am so excited, and I just can't hide it. I know, I know, I love this game." So this was what I was singing (to myself, not out loud) after dropping Max off at school for the last several days. There are some days when being home alone is just about the best thing in the world. Yes, there are lots of things I should be doing, but instead I get to play the new version of Roads of Rome, and write a walkthrough for everyone!

In any case, as most of you should know by now, resource management games are my favorite genre and the Roads of Rome series is one of the standards for the game. And so far Roads of Rome III (yup, got to use Roman numerals!) does not disappoint. The barbarian hordes are ruining the simple family life of Victorious as he and his wife Julia are awaiting the birth of their first child. The barbarians are destroying the provinces and no one else can save Rome from the barbarian invasion and rebuild the Roman Empire.
Roads of Rome III is simply the next great game in a fantastic series. The game works exactly the same while adding further challenge. Take a look at the video and you will see that FIRE has been added to the chaos. There is now an absolutely crucial new building, the Pumping Station, from which you will be collecting buckets of water to put out the fires before you can repair a building. In addition, there is a cobbler who makes speedy boots for you to pick up whenever you need them; this can be very crucial to finishing the levels in Expert time.
Roads of Rome III starts fast. When I played Level 8 the first time, I wasn't able to finish it before night fall. That usually does not happen to me so early in a game, so I knew right off that this was going to be a fun challenge. The good thing is that there are now 4 modes to play in, Hard, Normal, Easy, and Relaxed so you can choose your stress level! One warning though, if this is your first time playing Roads of Rome, go back to the beginning. Besides being a bit easier, you will want to play every single game you can get your hands on.
The Roads of Rome III Walkthrough is now complete. With effort, I was able to beat every single level in Expert time, including all of the Hard levels. It took me some time but I did it! It's one reason why this game has been out a couple of weeks and I'm just posting. But I've got to tell you that I have had more fun playing this game than any other resource management game. Right now, Roads of Rome III is the absolute BEST GAME out there in this genre.
