OK, I wasn’t really into Facebook games that much until I saw that Zavy plays with his grandma… then I couldn’t resist getting in on that and seeing it for myself… I started playing a few of the games they play, which is how I discovered the hidden object game Hidden Haunts – a gateway to the paranormal world right from my Facebook account!
Hidden Haunts is a pretty fun game. Nothing overly complicated and something I can do in between studying and homework that’s not going to take over my life since you can only play so much at a time, because it’s all based on the amount of energy you have. Every time you play a hidden object scene, or a haunting as they call it, you use energy. Once you’re out of energy, you have to wait until it refills, so I go back to my homework when I’m done!

It also appeals to my decorating desires since, as you progress, you can decorate a plot of land with houses, trees, flowers, roads, and more. You begin with just one mansion on your land. This is Greystone Manor, and it serves as the center of your village and the gateway to the paranormal world and everything that goes bump in the night.
From the manor, you can access all of the hauntings, or hidden object scenes. You will have to play each scene a few times to gain experience and coins and eventually unlock even more levels. One thing I’ve discovered is that it’s a good idea to find all the hidden objects first before you start clicking, because you get more points for chaining items together. Each time you quickly find another item, you gain more and more points.

Each scene also has a special hidden object that you have to find. They will just show you the image in the corner, and you’ll have to search it out that way. I found the hidden object scenes are surprisingly challenging and was thankful for that hint button that charges pretty quickly.
As for the social aspect of the game, that’s a pretty cool feature. Every day I go and visit Zavy and his grandma’s spooky villages, and I have to find a poltergeist that’s haunting their town. You click around the buildings until you find the ghost. This opens up a hidden object scene where you have 60 seconds to find as many of the listed hidden objects as possible.
Overall, Hidden Haunts hits my radar as a fun game to play throughout the day… not to mention, it lets me keep an eye on Zavy playing with his grandma… is that not the most adorable thing you’ve ever heard??!
